Lucknow T20I Live: A light roller being used on the pitch

A light roller is being used on the pitch. The ground staff are working actively. Is that a positive sign?

No!

They are keeping the field ready, in case there is a chance to begin the contest. There’s dew falling on the pitch and the members of the ground staff are ensuring the pitch remains dry.

The next inspection is at 8 pm IST.

We would have already started to lose overs. If, and when, the game begins, it will be a curtailed one.

IND vs SA Live: No improvement in visibility in Lucknow

The umpires walked out for the second inspection at 7:30 pm IST. But, they went back without any positive update.

Dale Steyn, who is on the ground for commentary duty, recalled his visit to a mall on Tuesday evening, saying he was not able to see anything beyond 20 metres.

Even from the TV visuals, the three presenters – Steyn, Robin Uthappa and Mayanti Langer – are clearly visible. But, the pavilion at their background, is not. It must be tough for the players, especially when it comes to fielding and taking outfield catches.

Aakash Chopra says it’s the right time to introduce some laws to deal with such foggy situation.

But, isn’t it simpler if the host board doesn’t schedule matches in cities that become foggy during winters? Keep in mind, the previous T20I was played in Dharamsala. Fortunately, it went on without any interruption.
